Abstract

The propagation properties of the flexural vibration are affected by the elastic foundations and external forces. The band gap characteristics in the pipe conveying fluid with axial force on elastic foundations are analyzed by using the transfer matrix method. The elastic foundation can dampen the propagation of the flexural wave under some pivotal frequency, and this attenuation is not the causation of the periodic pipe. Both the elastic foundation and axial forces can affect the gap frequency in the pipe, but the elastic foundation can enhance the stability of the pipe with axial forces obviously.
