Abstract

The vibration of lightweight flexible truss on spacecrafts leads to improper work of the payloads installed on these structures. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an approach to the vibration suppression of the flexible structure employing an active-passive electromagnetic dynamic vibration absorber (DVA). Firstly, a moving-magnet active-passive electromagnetic DVA is designed, and then a finite element method is used to analyze the magnetic field and membrane of DVA. Secondly, a prototype of the active-passive electromagnetic DVA is manufactured, and its rationality is tested. Finally, the vibration control experiment of a triangular truss using the DVA with the ADC control algorithm is conducted. The results show that the first-order resonant amplitude is reduced by 50.83% with passive DVA. Compared with the passive DVA, the first-order resonant and non-resonant amplitudes are reduced by 96.30% and 81.40% respectively with the active DVA.
