Abstract

The micromechanics features of the contact of linear ultrasonic motors’ stators and movers are discussed. The contact surfaces’ roughness and statistical parameters were tested in experiments, the probability-distribution function showing the highness of the dots on the stators’ contact surfaces was obtained based on probability statistics method, and the simulation model of the contact surfaces was given through the random number simulation method. Then the micromechanics model of the contact surfaces of the stators and movers was established using the Hertz microscopic contact model. The relationship of the pre-stress on the stators and movers, contact deformation and the real area of contact was obtained at last. The discussion helps to establish the overall dynamic model of linear ultrasonic motors and analyse their features of frictional wear.
