Abstract

In order to overcome the problem induced by different exceeding probability of dynamic load factors used in CCIP-016 and SCI P354, vibration serviceability assessment method for floor structures based on random walking force and annoyance rate is proposed. Randomness of the parameters in walking force is taken into account to construct random walking force time histories, and then cumulative probability of the maximum RMS (Root Mean Square) acceleration responses of the structure is found through a large number of time history analyses. Then vibration serviceability of the structure is assessed using expectation of annoyance rate. The calculation results of an actual structure show that the maximum RMS acceleration responses obtained by CCIP-016 and SCI P354 have a small probability of occurrence, so it is not suitable to use as the representative value of human-induce vibration. The proposed method is built on the basis of probability, and has no relationship with the exceeding probability of dynamic load factors, so it is more convincing than the present methods.
