Abstract

The small-caliber tube vibration when projectile moving in bore was studied applying finite element method and cantilever beam theory based on moving load theory. First the tube structure was discretized into normal sector elements in cylindrical coordinate which were numbered according to the moving process in chamber of projectile rotating band concave parts and bulges. Then the moving process in chamber was separated to three phases considering driving band engraving process and transient collision laws between rigid front band and chamber taking rotating band as elastoplasts, concave parts as linear predigest model, bulges as Dubowsky model and tube as flexible uniform cantilever beam. Lastly the time-variant dynamic equations of tube radial vibration subjected to a moving projectile were set up according to the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Ignoring the influence such as recoil, cradle and barbette, the projectile-barrel coupling model was proved to be equivalent to the real station by comparing with the muzzle vibration experiment data.
