Abstract

This paper studied the phenomenon of stochastic resonance in RLC series resonant circuit whose capacitance parameters and excitation signal disturbed by Gaussian white noise with using Fourth-order Runge-Kutta algorithm and Signal to noise ratio(SNR) gain and spectral power magnification as the indicators for the stochastic resonance (SR) measurements. The results show that Underdamped RLC series resonant circuit under the appropriate system parameters, noise parameters and excitation signal frequency conditions, the SNR gain and spectral power magnification are non-monotonic functions of the noise intensity and the frequency of the input signal, and their values are greater than 1,Stochastic resonance phenomenon occurred in the circuit。
But In the critical damping or overdamped case despite the SNR gain under certain conditions is also non-monotonic function of noise intensity and the input signal frequency, but the spectral power magnification value is less than 1, the occurrence of stochastic resonance improved SNR, signal energy has not been strengthened. This conclusion makes the application of underdamped RLC series resonant circuit used in weak signal detection possible.
