Low noise design of sewing oil pan based on Finite Element and Boundary Element Method

Abstract

For a certain type of ZOJE's sewing machine, a solid model and a finite element model were build. Finite element method mode analysis was conducted and structure's natural frequencies and mode shapes were obtained by HyperWorks-Optistruct. On the basis, with the use of MSC.Patran/Nastran, frequency response analysis was carried out; by which the results of simulation and experimental test were compared to verify the validity of the model. Then the oil pan was improved by topology optimization and morphology optimization. After optimization design, the former five natural frequencies of the oil pan increased more. Resonance was eliminated and surface vibration velocity was reduced, so radiated power was reduced. And then with the use of SYSNOISE, the results of noise radiation simulation based on boundary element analysis show that the radiated noise of the oil pan reduced. Finally, the vibration and noise reduced obviously in the vibration and noise test for the sewing machine. The study can effectively improve the oil pan's structure stiffness and reduce the vibration amplitude, and ultimately reduce the structure radiated noise of the whole sewing machine.
