Abstract

Based on the locally resonant mechanism of Phononic Crystals, a honeycomb sandwich plate with vibration absorbers attached periodically is constructed. Utilizing the Mode Synthetic Technology, the frequency response function (FRF) of the periodic honeycomb sandwich plate (PHSP) is calculated and the vibration modes are presented. The effects of the vibration absorber parameters such as stiffness, mass on the vibration band gap are analyzed, and the qualitative changing law of the vibrational band gaps is obtained. Finally, the vibration response of the PHSP with pinned supports in the time domain is performed. Results show that the propagation of the flexural vibration in the PHSP will be effectively attenuated. The research of this paper may provid a new way to the vibration control of plates and shells.
