Abstract

Being capable of improving the static and dynamic analysis of ball screws accurately. Based on the equilibrium of the forces and moments acting on the ball and screw race, and take into account the influence of variable contact angle and delfection, a precision mathematical model of stiffness matrix was established. Combined a ball screw as an example, the influences on its stiffness acted by the working conditions and structure parameters are anslyzed. The result shows that stiffness of the ball screw increases with the increase of axial and radial load, while decreases as the overturning moment increases.Besides, stiffness can aslo be determined according to the value of lead and ratio of raceways. Higher lead and lower ratio of raceways can improve the stiffness of the ball screw. Axial load、lead and ratio of the raceways play an important role in axial stiffness, radial load and overturning moment affect the angle stiffness heavily. The present numerical simulations are compared with the experiment. The comparisons illustrate that the present method is reasonable and reliable.
