Abstract

As the end effect exists in the iterative Hilbert transform (IHT) and the design of filter depends on the prior knowledge, an improved approach for mechanical fault diagnosis is proposed. Analyzing the causes of the End Effect in the method of IHT, a method based on the symmetric extension of signal to eliminate the End Effect is proposed. Meanwhile, an adaptive zero-phase filter design method is proposed to replace the fixed filter in the original method. Simulation testing shows that the new method in this paper has a higher accuracy in the demodulation and efficiently inhibits the end effect compared with the original method. At last, the method is used to analyze the fault of the rolling bearing and the results show that the method in this paper can has an improved effect and can extract the fault feature more accurately.
