Abstract

Under the combined action of wall and free surface, the bubble shows more complex pulse features than that under either of the two boundary conditions. It is hard to be analyzed theoretically. In order to study the bubble pulse features under the combined action of wall and free surface, an electric circuit with 200 voltages is designed to generate discharge bubbles and the distances from bubble center to wall and free surface are changed in turn. The high-speed motion analytic system is used to collect and analyze the experimental results under different work conditions. The bubble shape variation under the combined action of wall and free surface is obtained. Through large scale of experimental data, the influences of combined action of wall and free surface on the bubble pulse period, the bubble moving trace and the inside jet direction are concluded, which provides references for the relevant theoretical and numerical research.
