Abstract

Computational methods were used to analyse the fluid-structure interaction of the internal fluid and pipe and exterior fluid coupled system. In essence, a fully coupled fluid–structure interaction (FSI) analysis was utilized in this investigation. Moreover, the fluid domain is described by an Arbitrary-Lagrangian–Eulerian (ALE) formulation that is fully coupled to the structure domain. This study analyzes the effect of the flow conditions and the geometric variation of the vertical transporting pipelines on the pipe’s natural frequency changes due to internal or exterior fluid using a finite element fluid–structure interaction (FSI) model. Both coupling model analysis on fluid structure interaction of pipe—outer fluid in lifting pipeline was researched by finite element software ADINA. These results are shown:(1)whether fixed or hinged suppor, the impacts of the external flow at different speeds to pipe’s offset did not change significantly. The maxium offset located on free end.(2).the maxium offset of X-direction is always less than the growth of Y-direction offset;the minimum offset changed in the X-direction is bigger corresponding than that of Y-direction.(3) the minimum offst of Y-direction in the fixed conncention is slightly bigger that that of Y-direction in the articulated connection, because the degreeof freedom of Y-rotation would not be constrainted.
