Abstract

The problem of magneto-elastic vibration of an axially moving current-conducting thin plate in magnetic field was investigated. Based on the expressions of kinetic energy, strain energy and virtual work done by electromagnetic forces, the magneto-elastic vibration equations of an axially moving rectangular thin plate in magnetic field were deduced by using Hamilton principle. Based on the Maxwell equations, and the corresponding electromagnetic constitutive relations, electromagnetic forces expressions of thin plate were derived. In terms of rectangular thin plate in transverse magnetic field, based on displacement mode hypothesis, by using of Galerkin method, the corresponding magneto-elastic vibration differential equations of axially moving thin plate under three different boundary conditions were obtained. By the numerical examples, magneto-elastic vibration characteristic curves of rectangular thin plate under different boundary conditions were obtained. The influence of axially moving velocity, magnetic induction intensity parameters on natural frequency were analyzed, variation of critical velocity was also discussed.
