Abstract

Transfer path analysis (TPA) is now the most common tool in noise and vibration diagnosis of mechanical system. A review of frequency-domain TPA methods is presented, which include conventional TPA, OPA, OPAX, fast TPA, multilevel TPA and hybrid TPA. The basic principles and advantages and disadvantages of the above methods are introduced. In addition, operational methods of these methods are illustrated with several examples and application areas of the methods are summarized based on the comprehensive comparison of these methods. Finally, the remained problems in current TPA methods are also discussed with some suggestions given for future study.
