Abstract

The apparent wave velocity is an important parameter and of critical for its accuracy on calculating the rotational components. This paper using 10 stations 30 of seismic wave acceleration records according to the chi-chi referred the method has the group wave velocity and visual wave velocity, analyzes and compares the field wave velocity of the wenchuan earthquake and the United States in the western area. It shows that this article by chi-chi earthquake visua wave speed curve and others with the same method respectively from the wenchuan earthquake records and the seismic records of the United States in the western area depending on the size and geting wave velocity variation are different, the differences will directly influence the calculation precision of rotating component. In the western United States with increased frequency and reduce the trend, but the other two areas on frequency keeping slow increase.
