Abstract

In order to obtain an accurate structural dynamics model, a method combining the surface response and optimization is proposed. The sample points are acquired by using parametric models and Optimal Latin Hypercube experimental design to construct the polynomial response surface model. The least squares method is used to determine the polynomial coefficients and then test the response surface fitting accuracy. The error between the calculated response surface results and the actual test results is taken as the objective function. Adaptive simulated annealing algorithm is employed to optimize response surface parameters. The updated model is then obtained by substituting optimized parameters into non-updated FEM. The GARTEUR benchmark model of the European Aviation Organization is taken as an example. Comparison of the modal frequencies of non-updated and updated FEM proves the reappearance and prediction ability of the updated FEM, and verifies the effectiveness of the structural dynamics finite element model updating based on the response surface method and optimization method.
