Abstract

An improved denoising algorithm based on FFT for narrow band signal was investigated, and its application in segmentation filtering for broadband signal was also proposed. Aiming at the disadvantage of the traditional FFT-based denoising algorithm for narrow band signal, an improved one was proposed. Firstly, we estimated the deviation between the signal’s centre frequency and the maximum bin, and then a frequency shift was adopted to make up the deviation so that the signal’s centre frequency is sufficiently close to the maximum one. In succession, the new signal after frequency shift was filtered in frequency domain based on FFT, and then an inverse frequency shift was used to recover the original frequency. At last, the proposed improved denoising algorithm was adopted in segmentation filtering for broadband signal. Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm can do better than traditional one in all frequency areas.
