Abstract

By theoretical calculation and finite element simulation, the response of the bolted connection with disk spring subjected to the step impulsive load was researched. By contrast with the peak stresses of the bolt with or without disk spring, the influence of the damping of the bolted connection structure and the stiffness of the disk spring on the response of bolt was revealed. The results show that the peak stress of the bolt is decreased significantly by setting disk spring in the bolted connection structure, and it is related to the stiffness of disk spring and the damping of the bolted connection structure. The peak stress is reduced with the decrease of the stiffness of disk spring. With the increase of damping of the system, the peak stress is decreased effectively and the vibration caused by the impulsive load is decayed rapidly.
