Abstract

Vibration source compositions as well as effects on the powerhouse have been investigated for the roof overflow hydropower station with bulb tubular unit. Based on the analysis of theoretical and prototype observation data, powerhouse structure vibration frequencies produced by unit operation and flow discharge were identified, and dynamic load sources were determined. Furthermore, the proportion of different frequency was calculated as the vibration of main measuring points was maximum. The contribution of frequency band energy to whole vibration response was also examined for actual measurement conditions. The change laws of frequency division vibration with the load were presented. The results showed that the slot jet impingement, the vibration of runner blade and incorrect coupled relationship are the main vibration sources. Discharge induced powerhouse vibration is small, and there is no any impact to powerhouse structure’s the operation and security. The study provides the basis for evaluating this model hydropower station powerhouse vibration at quantification level.
