Abstract

Analysis on characteristics and multiple-source damage mechanism of bridge and tunnel lap joint projects under grade Ⅳ or Ⅴ surrounding rocks have been made, on the basis of which related model test equipments and test methods have been successfully developed. The study of model test and its results indicated that: Vehicle loads and impact actions during post operation stage have obvious harmful effect on bridge, tunnel and surrounding rocks nearby the entrance, which may cause damages to key parts of bridge or tunnel in the long run, and therefore do harm to the durability of bridge, tunnel lining, pile foundation or the stability of surrounding rocks. Consequently, some measures should be taken for the purpose of reducing the influence caused by vehicle loads and impact, such as strengthening key parts of bridge, tunnel lining and surrounding rocks nearby the entrance, or using pile foundation, decreasing bridge span, lengthening the lap joint period and so on.
