Abstract

For studying the effects of material density and elastic modulus of the damping pads under sleepers for the dynamic characteristic of the ladder track, the method of ant colony algorithm coupled with LS-DYNA was proposed. Firstly, design variables were optimized with the program of ant colony algorithm of continuous function; secondly, the FEM model with optimized variables was calculated by LS-DYNA; finally, the results from LS-DYNA were set back to the program of ant colony algorithm of continuous function. Analysis shows that: the best material density is 620 kg/m3 and the best elastic modulus is 6.25×106 N/m2 for the damping pads under the ladder track sleepers. The weighted VLz of optimal variables decreases 6.5 dB on the mounting of the ladder track in the operating railway by comparison of non-optimization. Therefore, the program of ant colony algorithm coupled with LS-DYNA for optimization of the dynamic characteristic of the ladder track is effective.
