Abstract

According to the structural characteristics of high-speed motorized spindles, an analysis model of the dynamic stiffness for angular contact ball bearings, which takes into account the effects of the bending deformation of the inner ring, was set up by using the mechanics of elasticity and the dynamics of rolling bearings. In addition, the radial deflection of the inner ring under different operating conditions and its effect on the bearing dynamic stiffness were discussed. Finally, a test of the bearing dynamic stiffness was carried out on a 12MD60Y6 motorized spindle. The simulation and experimental results indicate that the radial deflection of the inner ring is directly proportional to the bearing axial load and inversely proportional to the rotational speed, and can not be ignored in heavy load condition. The results of the bearing dynamic stiffness considering the radial deflection of the inner ring have a better agreement with experimental values.
