Abstract

A dynamic analytic framework of non-coaxial eccentric structures under wind loading is presented in this paper. Firstly, the dynamic equations of a two-storey non-coaxial eccentric structure with 6-degree-of-freedom (6DOFs) are set up. Secondly, the dynamic equations of a multistory (more than two-storey) non-coaxial eccentric structure are obtained via expanding those for a two-storey non-coaxial eccentric structure. Thirdly, based on the power spectra of the wind forces in along-wind, across-wind, and torsional directions, likewise considering both the intermodal coupling of modal response components and statistical correlation between across-wind and torsional loading, the analytic methodology of the wind-induced lateral-torsional coupled responses of structures with non-coaxial mass eccentricity are developed in the frequency domain. Eventually, taking example for the structure with 15 DOFs, the effects of non-coaxial stiffness eccentricity on the wind-induced lateral-torsional coupled responses are analyzed through selecting different locations of stiffness eccentricity.
