Abstract

In order to quantitatively understand impulsively loading mechanism of point pyrotechnic separation device, the finite element models of three processes, including explosion, strain energy release and impact, were separately built. The three different physical processes and the induced responses were investigated, and characteristics of the structural responses in different stages and fields were discussed. The simulation results agree well with the general conception described in related standards. This paper, for the first time, quantitatively studies the contribution and characteristics of the structural responses induced by the three impulsively loads. The results provide references for design, testing and evaluation of corresponding equipments. Also, this paper provides a feasible numerical simulation method for research the mechanism of the impulsive loadings and the induced structural responses.
