Abstract

In the incipient failure of rolling bearing, the impulse is extremely weak and difficult to extract from strong noise background. With the method of adaptive multi-scale morphological filtering, the impulse can be matching and extracted with variable scale of structure element, but as the weak impulse is too sensitive to the scale, the extraction is often not ideal. Morphological lifting wavelet is introduced to remain the impulse and smooth the noise and low-frequency component, thus, the impulse can separate from noise background and then with adaptive multi-scale morphological filtering, the impulse can be extracted efficiently. Comparing with other two methods, the method is proved to be efficient in weak impulse extraction.
