Abstract

Microscopic traffic simulation was used to simulate the dynamic road traffic noise for housing estate. Route network was modeled and vehicle dynamic traffic was simulated by microscopic traffic simulation technology. Combining with the vehicle noise emission model and noise propagation model which considered reflections and diffractions among buildings, the dynamic traffic noise simulation for housing estate in networks of user equilibrium and unbalanced conditions were realized. The influence to the traffic noise field distribution was analyzed when building a new road through the housing estate and positioning the different building layouts. The outputs were not only the spatial distribution of traffic noise for housing estate, but also the temporal one which can reveal the fluctuation characters of road traffic noise. At last, the measurement results of field survey agreed well with the simulated ones.
