Numerical and Experimental Study on Impact Response of Submunitions Drop

Abstract

Using LS-DYNA software, impact response of submunitions drop to concrete was simulated and tested by experiments, in which only the angles of drop and angles of attack are different. The drop low of maximum overload and action time was obtained by the range of 60-90°angles of drop and less than 5°angles of attack. The results of numerical simulation are agree with the drop experiments. The conclusions and the results from numerical simulation and experiments are useful to the foundation of impact response theoretical model for submunitions drop.
