Abstract

The stability of roll system was identified on the 2800 mm heavy plate finishing rolling mill in Najing Steel Company using the Subspace Identification Approach N4SID. High order dynamic mathematical model for working mill was constructed by signal choice and identification pair construction. When the rotation frequency of roll is about 0.63 Hz, a mode of vibration will exist in the mill, vibration of the mill stands will be induced and the plate shape and normal function of equipments will be influenced. In practical production, the rotation rate range 36.0~39.0 r•min-1 for the finishing rolling mill must be avoided and the plate shape was controlled after speed adjustment. The valid of this model in the analysis on the stability of roll system was verified by which.
