Abstract

Vibration mechanism of a gear system is analyzed, and the principle of anti-vibration with a damping ring is elaborated. The axial vibration dynamical equations of a gear-damping ring system are established. The harmonic balance method is employed to obtain an approximate analytical solution which is used to compare with the numerical solution. On this basis, by using a set of typical data, the amplitude-frequency characteristic is discussed. The relationship between vibration reduction characteristics and the parameters of system is also discussed.
