Abstract

The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation theory was introduced in this paper to predict performance level of high-rise buildings in wind-induced vibration. A series of evaluation factors, such as top peak acceleration and story drift, were studied in detail and divided into three categories: main structure, outer environment and foundation. To fully reflect the influence of the factors to the performance level, multi-level evaluation system was established firstly and then fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model was proposed to predict the performance level of high-rise buildings in wind excitation. Based on the proposed model, the performance level of four high-rise buildings built in Guangzhou city were predicted and calculated by Matlab program. Results show that influence of all of the evaluation factors can be well considered and corresponding weight coefficient of each of the factors can be calculated reasonably by analytic hierarchy process, which then realize the prediction of the performance level of the four buildings and reliable prediction results obtained. Results of the proposed two-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation are more superior than that of single fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, especially for many evaluation factors existing for some engineering cases. Results of this study will provide guides and references for structural wind-resistant design or reinforcement engineering design.
