Abstract

Classical model of micro-perforated panel assumes that the panel is rigid. As a result, the effect of properties of the panel is ignored. But the precision of the model will decrease if this effect must not be ignored. Equivalent model of micro-perforated panel is established to simulate the acoustical characterization in diffuse field by using the foam module of VA ONE software considering the effect of the properties of panel. The conclusion is drawn that the equivalent model of micro-perforated panel is much closer to the experimental results compared with classical model. This equivalent model can also be used for complex multilayer micro-perforated panel and is helpful for engineering application.
