Abstract

In view of the effect of gearboxes’ dynamic characteristics on the working performance of mechanical equipments, a dynamical model of the typical composite structure in shafts driving systems, i.e. plate-rolling bearing-gear shaft-rolling bearing-plate coupled system, is developed, based on the analysis about the generation mechanism and transmission path of the structure-borne sound energy in gearbox systems. The modal solution of the vibration power flow transmitted to the plate through rolling bearing is deduced and calculated, by applying the method of substructure mobility analysis. And considering the modal density of modal solution, an estimation method for the coupling loss factor between the gear shaft and the plate which are connected by rolling bearing is studied, in accordance with the principle of Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA). The results of SEA and modal solution appear a good uniformity. A further investigation is made to reveal the characteristics of vibration energy transmitted through the rolling bearing in gearboxes, to provide a useful theoretical guide for gearboxes with lower noise and vibration.
