Abstract

To test the actual seismic response control effect of infilled wall MTMD vibration absorption structure, based on the optimal design theory of MTMD system, the experimental models with different mass ratio or frequency ratio of main structure and substructure were designed for hammering test and shaking table test, as well as ordinary frame model. The modal analysis indicate that each mode period of vibration absorption structure is longer, the vibration performance is controlled by the first horizontal vibration mode, and the control effect on first vibration model is better. The shaking table test results show that the remarkable vibration absorption effect could be acquired under the moderate and major earthquakes, the peak damping rate of acceleration reaches 30~60%, the peak damping rate of displacement reaches 40~60%. With the larger mass ratio and the closer to 1 frequency ratio, the vibration absorption structure could obtain better seismic response control effect, especially in the major earthquake stage.
