Abstract

The nonlinear horizontal vibration dynamics model was built up about the hot strip mill top working roll, which based on the action of dual power source. The averaging method has been used to solve the system analytical solution approximate expression in the case of primary resonance. Taking a hot strip mill for example, the system primary resonance of amplitude-frequency response curve have been analyzed about the effects of the strip stiffness linear terms, stiffness nonlinear quadratic, damping linear terms and dual power source total excitation amplitude. Through the establishment of horizontal vibration differential equations, the system responses can be solved under the combined actions, which are the main drive system torsional vibration and hydraulic screwdown system vertical vibration. To describe the vibration intensity with acceleration RMS, it obtains that the vertical vibration contribution on the horizontal vibration is greater than the amount of torsional vibration contribution. When the phase angle changes between the torsional vibration excitation and vertical vibration excitation, the conclusion is that the horizontal vibration is minimal while the phase is about 180 °, which provides a theoretical basis for the inhibition of the mill horizontal vibration.
