Abstract

The model of long-time used shaking table is difficult to establish. An exact shaking table model is significant for calculating the structural base shear. The shaking table model at Harbin Institute of Technology is successfully identified based on extended Kalman estimator in this paper. The proposed method is first validated numerically with the simulation of a single degree of freedom structure subject to earthquake excitation. The model of shaking table at Harbin Institute of Technology was identified experimentally with three shaking table tests. The comparison of the calculated and measured acceleration results validated the proposed method can exactly identify the model of shaking table. This research can effectively identify different kinds of shaking table model. Also, it can be used to determine the structural parameters which are difficult to measure.
