Abstract

In order to investigate sources of the interior booming noise in a car cabin when the engine is running at 2900RPM and 3750RPM, the transfer path analysis based on impedance matrix method was conducted and condition number was restricted by a setting threshold to reduce ill-condition error. Results show that on one hand, transfer paths corresponding to the x direction of the powertrain’s right mount, the z direction of the powertrain’s right mount and the z direction of the powertrain’s rear mount are the main contributive paths at 2900RPM, the large exciting force is the root cause for the first two ones, while the high path sensitivity is the root cause for the third one, on the other hand, transfer paths corresponding to the x direction of the powertrain’s right mount and the z direction of the powertrain’s rear mount are the main contributive paths at 3750RPM, the large exciting force is the root cause for the first one, while the high path sensitivity is the root cause for the second one. These results are of great guiding significance on the noise control and the improvement of the car’s sound quality.
