Abstract

Self-oscillating rotary percussion drilling method which based on the knowledge of utilization efficiency of the hydraulic power can improve ROP is proposed, the core of the method is self-oscillating rotary impact drilling tool. Modulation mechanism of the self-oscillating hydraulic components was analyzed by large eddy simulation analysis. Using the orthogonal design, self-oscillation hydraulic components were optimized according to large eddy simulation analysis. Based on this, the self-excited oscillation rotary percussion drilling tool is developed. The field test results showed that the effect was better than the old tool, which indicated that the method of optimization self-excited oscillation hydraulic components is correct and feasible. This method provides a theoretical basis which can promote and accelerate the application of this tool, also provides a basis for the study of a related engineering field. The research has the theory and application value.
