Abstract

In order to improve the operation stability of spindle system, it is significant to investigate the dynamic performance, affected by centrifugal force and gyroscopic moment effects of "shaft-bearing" system which runs in high-speed field. An integrated "shaft-bearing" system digital dynamic model considering both centrifugal force and gyroscopic moment effects of shaft is presented based on the coupled stiffness matrices of rolling bearings, which are obtained by expanding Harris' nonlinear rolling bearing analysis model. Impact modal experimentation is selected to verify the accuracy of this dynamic model. Effects of centrifugal force and gyroscopic moment of shaft and operational stiffness of rolling bearings on the dynamic performance of "shaft-bearing" system which runs in high-speed field are discussed. It is shown that when bearing being in the case of extreme light (EL) preload, the high-speed effects of shaft are more influential than the shifts of the operational stiffness of rolling bearings to the varying dynamic performance of "shaft-bearing" system, especially where the gyroscopic moment effect of shaft is the most remarkable influence factor.
