Abstract

The noise radiated from the running trains on the viaduct seriously influences the persons who live or work along the rail lines. Optimizing the rail line layout based on the train noise model will alleviate the bad influence in advance. The characteristics of running train noise are obtained ahead for building the train noise model. Beam-forming combined with sound pressure level modification is presented for quantitively determining the distribution of sound pressure level on the train profile. The reference microphone is set in the reconstructing plane to modify the sound pressure level in the presented method. Subsequently the characteristics of the running train noise are obtained quantitively. The method is applied to reconstruct the sound field induced by running train on the viaduct. The result satisfies the real sound field. The method is validated to be suitable to analyze the train noise quantitively.
