Design and characteristics research of hybrid isolator based on laminated PVDF actuator

Abstract

A kind of laminated PVDF actuator is designed and its characteristic is investigated through theoretical and experimental methods, then a novel active and passive hybrid vibration isolator is proposed by combining PVDF actuator and rubber element. By studying the control theories of proportional feedback method and classic Bang-Bang method, an improved Bang-Bang control method is proposed and applied to the control of actuator. The isolator’s mechanical model is put forward and its transmissibility characteristic is studied through simulation and experiment. Finally, the experimental platform is established using hybrid vibration isolator; the experimental results indicate that when the amplitude of the vibration disturbance is not too large, the hybrid isolator can achieve better performance than pure passive isolator, especially at natural frequency, experimental results also show that improved Bang-Bang control method is more effective than proportional feedback control method.
