Wind-induced time history analysis and equivalent static wind loads for long-span lattice shells

Abstract

Wind tunnel test was carried out forthe long-span lattice shell roof structure with opening on two sides, which is constructed for storing coal of the power plant. Based on the time history data of fluctuating wind loadsderived from thetest, wind-induced dynamic responses of the roof structure was analyzed corresponding to two cases of with and without stored coal. The effects of sored coal on the wind-induced dynamic responses have been investigated under different incident wind angles. The determination of equivalent static wind loads (ESWLs) was studied in the context of gust response factors and peak factors. The analysis results indicate that the ESWLson the long-span lattice shells can be reasonably determined by the gust response factors associated with the axial response forces of key structural members.
