Analysis of ground vibration control by fluid saturated porous wave impeding block

Abstract

Besed on the fluid-soilid coupling in fluid saturated porous media, a new type of foundation vibration isolation system is propsoed. Conside setting the saturated porous wave impeding block in elastic foundation which subjected to surface and internal strip harmonic load, using Fouier expansion, the calculation formula were established by the lineat elastic theory and Biot’s model. Through numerical examples, the effect of vibration isolation was compared to conventional single phase solid wave impeding block, and the influence of parameters of porous material, including the properties of solid phase, porosity, pore fluid, were analyzed. The results show that, compared with the single phase solid impending block isolation sytem, fluid saturated porous wave impending block isolation system has more advantages , and more flexible design.
