Two-parameter damage models based on the deformation and energy

Abstract

Existing two-parameter damage models are difficult for application because of the large calculation work quantity and tend to the more cumulative errors. Based on this, a semi-analytical and semi-numerical two-parameter model for RC frams is proposed, using the displacement damage and the energy one. Then the inter-story damage types calculed by the model proposed in this paper are compred with those obtained by Park-Ang model, and the feasibility of the proposed model is verified. At the same time, the following conclusions are obtained: the component damage is composed of the displacement damage which plays a major role and the energy one. And a good linear relationship exixtes between the two types of damage for RC columns and columns in each layer. Then the distribution of the inter-story damage betweenthe RC frame beam and the column is the same as the one of the cumulative-plastic deformation distribution coefficient along the layer.
