Abstract

Multiple footsteps loads and center of pressure displacement were obtained by using the walkway test system. Pedestrian step frequency and step length, dynamic load factors (DLFs) and phase angles of the first five orders of Fourier series walking load model were also calculated. Walking load parameters of 94 test subjects were analyzed. Step frequency and step length approximately follow normal distribution respectively. Linear regression models concerning step frequency are proposed for the first five orders of DLFs. Fourier series walking load model considering five orders of harmonics is developed. Comparisons with other walking load models show that the walking loads vary by the population researched, and the constructed model can reflect the walking load characteristics of Chinese people well.
