Abstract

The evolution of underwater explosion bubble beneath floating structure is numerically simulated using three-dimensional (3D) boundary integral method (BIM) in an inviscid, incompressible and irrotational flow. The effect of free surface on bubble dynamics is also considered. The present method is well validated by comparing the numerical simulations with the experimental results. For free-floating structure, the distance between bubble and free surface, distance between bubble and structure and two dynamic responses: fixed and rigidly moving are separately investigated to research the interaction of bubble, floating structure and free surface. Their influence on bubble dynamics, pressure on the structure and free surface are especially concerned.
