Dynamics Modeling on Localized Defect of Deep Groove Ball Bearing under Point Contact Elasto-hydrodynamic Lubrication Condition

Abstract

The traditional bearing dynamics models are mostly based on dry contact mechanics, in which the effect of lubrication to bearing vibration has not been taken into account. Oil film will affect the contact stiffness of the bearing due to the existence of the lubricating oil film between the ball with local defect and raceway. In this paper two degree of freedom dynamic model of deep groove ball bearing is proposed, which is based on nonlinear hertzian contact deformation and elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication. Firstly, considering the relationship among the contact deformation, radial clearance and the defects, the simulation method for local defects is presented. Then, a two degree of freedom dynamic model of the deep groove ball bearing is constituted with consideration of the influence of elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication of the bearing contact stiffness. The model can simulate the actual condition of bearing operation more accurately. Finally, comparing the simulation signal of vibration response with experiment data of fault bearing, the model is verified. It can provide a theoretical foundation for fault diagnosis of bearing .
