The condition monitoring of contacting fault of plain bearings based on friction signal

Abstract

Contact friction fault diagnosis is diffcult in plain bearing caused by friction signals mixed with natural vibration signals. A plain bearing contact friction fault diagnosis method is proposed based on signal strength calculation but don’t need to separate the friction signals, in which EMD and Nonlinear Kurtosis is used to search time of friction signal. Then the impact strength of friction signals on natural vibration signals were calculated by improved Absolute Grey Relational Degree of B-mode. Finally, the calculation results were used to estimate the size of the friction signal and to diagnose contacting fault of plain bearing. The proposed method was applied to simulate signals and actual signals, the analysis results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method and offer us a new ideas to diagnosis the plain bearing fault.
