Engineering calculation model of projectile penetrating into concrete target with attack angle

Abstract

In order to study the influence of changes of oblique angle and attack angle on the trajectory, the engineering calculation model is established based on surface splitting mechanism and rigid kinematics equation. Using the calculation model, the changes of force and overload, and the variation of the parameters such as oblique angle and attack angle are obtained: the negative attack angle may reduce the deflection of penetration trajectory, and the positive attack angle may enlarge its deflection. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental results, which indicates that the calculation model can accurately predict the dynamic process of the projectile penetrating concrete. This method can provide a practical method for trajectory analysis of oblique penetration, especially the crater and initial deflection.
