Dynamic behavior of concrete under static tri-axial loadings

Abstract

A dynamic testing system for concrete and rock under static triaxial loading was developed. The hydraulic servo control system used in the testing system provides tri-axial independent pressures up to 100MPa, and SHPB devices were used to provide an impact load lower than 1GPa on specimens. The dynamic signals on six faces of a cube specimen were recorded with strain gauges on six SHPB bars attached to the cube specimen. The dynamic compressive behaviors of C30 concrete material under different static tri-axial loadings were investigated, and tri-direction independent dynamic stress-strain relations, dynamic volumetric strains, and dynamic Drucker-Prager strength parameters were obtained. For the purpose of comparison, the dynamic compressive behaviors of Nylon and Fujian granite were also investigated.
