Theoretical models of a vertical human-structure interaction system

Abstract

With wide application of large span and flexible structures, it is important to consider the effect of high density population on structural stability and safety, thus studying the interaction between human body and structure becomes critical.Here, the theoretical model of a 3-DOF human-structure interaction system was constructed with a 2-DOF human body model and a single-DOF mass-spring-damper structure model.The forced vibration of the 3-DOF human-structure interaction system was analyzed considering high damping ratio of human body, and the system’s resonant frequencies were obtained through analyzing its acceleration response function.The numerical simulation results of the system model were compared with the test data published in literatures.The results showed that the 3-DOF human-structure interaction system model proposed here can be used to simulate the test data with a satisfactory accuracy after optimizing parameters of the human body model with the simplex method.
